Happy Valentine's Day Loves!

Happy Heart Day!!

I love Valentine's Day.  It's a great day to be romantic even if you typically aren't.  It's our first Valentine's day as husband and wife so we are celebrating with dinner at one of our favorite places - Patrenella's!  Stu also sent me flowers to work.  The note was so sweet, but I won't embarrass him by telling you what it said.  Just know, he scored big brownie points.  I just want to wish you all a BIG HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY!!!

My beautiful roses with Lotsa Love Bear (and don't mind the mess on my desk - it's organized chaos.  I promise).

Money Well Spent

As promised, here are the pictures from my Willow House goods.  A few blogs back, I told you that I spent $103 and got over $770 worth of stuff!  Being a host truly has major benefits.  I'm so excited about all my new things - everything has it's place and my house is looking so good!!  I think I'm most excited about all of the different ways I can use all of the products I bought.

All of my goodies!!

Everyone's orders

Seven boxes worth of damage :)

If you like something you see here or if you are interested in having a party - reach out to my friend, Angie.  http://store.willowhouse.com/Default.aspx?opuscid=916641

The Evolution into Mommyhood

I completely understand why the Good Lord gives a woman nine months to prepare for motherhood.  Hallelujah to that.  While I haven't asked others, I feel positive that many women's evolution is like mine.

1) I clean ALL the time.  Like ALL. THE. TIME.  I can't quite understand how two seemingly clean people can make such messes, but due to the hours of cleaning every week, we do.  Obvious preparation for children.
2) I cook every day.  Even if it's the most simple meal ever, I cook it.  I will note that Stuart is very good about helping out and he definitely has good feedback for my best and uh...not so best meals.  He is also currently on a diet which means he's pretty picky.  (Hello Foreshadowing!) The other part of cooking means that I plan out our menus every week and have turned grocery shopping into a game.  You know....how quickly can I get in and out of the store, how much money can I save, etc.  Again, pretty obvious preparation for children.
3) Laundry. Oh the laundry.  I would have added this to the cleaning point, but I think it deserves it's own.  Anyone who has ever lived with me, or knows me really well knows that I HATE laundry.  It's not the putting it in the washer and moving it to the dryer part.  That's easy, everyone can do that.  I hate folding.  Even more than folding, I hate putting clothes away.  It takes forever.  I'd honestly prefer that the clothes sit in the basket and I will pull them out when I need them.  Since this is not respectible for any good housewife and mother, I've had to limit the amount of time spent putting clothes away by washing clothes at least twice a week.  I'm sure once my little man arrives, this will increase even more.
4)  I've gotten a consumerreport.com account.  Not the free one.  The one that shows you all the most up to date consumer information.  I spend a lot of time looking up strollers, high chairs, cribs, car seats, cars, cleaning products, etc.  Basically I look up anything that may or may not be safe.
5)  Cars.  I currently have a super cute sporty two door car.  You may have guessed.  I won't be driving it much longer.  We have started looking for a more mom-friendly SUV.  And yes, I'm fully aware that it will be trashed in about two years.
6)  Saturday Night Live.  Why is this part of the evolution, you may ask?  Well for a couple reasons.  It's got a really good cast again and is quite funny.  This makes it one of the best parts of my weekend.  I'm aware how sad that sounds.  I also record it because I know I will fall asleep about half way through the show.
7)  Blogging.  I love it.  Not only do I want to share what's going on in my life, I want to read about what's going on in other people's.  Even if I don't know the people - blog stalker, much?  I've found blogs about cooking, motherhood, becoming a Woman of God among others.  My favorite is http://itsalmostnaptime.blogspot.com/.  Laura's good friend Amanda sent this to me because she just became a mother.  It's got advice from mothers and it's already helped her.  It's hilarious.  If you're bored, take a peek.

Well I'm off.  To cook.  And clean.  And finish laundry.....
