The Christmas Season is here!

I was excited all week because Stu and I had an eventful weekend planned - Christmas parties and Lights in the Heights.  I haven't been to Lights in the Heights before, so I was most excited about this.  Woodland Heights, a neighborhood close to ours holds this celebration every year.  Every house is decorated, there are tons of parties, bands and concessions are set up in the little neighborhood square.  It's so cute.  I am sans camera at the moment, so I didn't get a lot of pictures.  Don't you worry though, I think Santa is bringing me a camera for Christmas - no more excuses.  Get ready for LOTS of pictures!! 

Friday night:  Both Stu and my Christmas parties were on the same night.  We opted for Stu's since it was close to home and we both know the caterer - who is awesome.  And for those that know me well, I am quite the 'foodie.'  Food always wins in my book.  The party was held at Winter Street Studios, a cool little art gallery.  My mom was also there representing the McGuire's since my dad isn't come home until Dec 20.  She was amazed at my baby bump.  It did seem to just pop out overnight....

 Saturday: I was determined to clean house, organize and cook all day long.  I spent my day doing just that, and made these cute little gifts to give out to friends - homemade cinnamon rolls and fudge!  The cinnamon rolls are from The Pioneer Woman.  If you haven't been to her blog, I highly recommend it.  She's awesome.  In no way are any of her recipes healthy, but they are delicious.  The cinnamon rolls were no different.  YUM-MY!!  http://thepioneerwoman.com/

Saturday night:  Our friend Carly invited us to her house before the Lights in the Heights festivities began.  She was such a great host, had tons of food, drinks - even a prerecorded fire in her "fireplace."  (fireplace = tv)  It was great to see all of our friends.  Brittany and Drew came with their baby girl Charlotte.  She is absolutely adorable!  After the pre-celebration, it was off to Lights in the Heights.  What a wonderful time.  I can't wait until next year.  I'm attaching the link, because like I said earlier....not many pictures.  http://www.woodland-heights.org/lightsintheheights.htm

 Overall the weekend was great and really got us into the Holiday spirit.  Since then, we've been listening to a lot of Christmas music, wrapping gifts, and get ready to spend time with our family.

The wedding went off without a hitch.  Well....one little hiccup, but nothing could have bothered me on my wedding day!  I was calm all day - relaxed, read a book, ate lunch with my bridesmaid's, etc.  Once the girls left the room, I got really nervous.  I was afraid I was going to trip down the aisle or say the wrong words or something else silly.  My dad came into the room and when they opened the doors to the chapel - I was immediately calmed.  Something about seeing my groom at the end of the aisle was very calming.  He looked so handsome.  The rest of the night was a blast.  I had a great time, and it was so nice to spend time with family and friends for such a great celebration.  I can't wait to get the pictures from the photographer!  I will be sure to post as soon as I get them.  For now, here are some to get started....

Wedding Showers

After two and half months of planning, Stu's Aunt Pam threw us a wedding shower in Tulsa.  My mom even came to Oklahoma with us.  Pam did a fabulous job - everything was so cute.  And I LOVE that she had guests address their own envelope.  It's going to be very easy when I send thank-yous!

A week later, our friends Laura, Nora and Susan threw us a shower in Houston.  I was so impressed with the spread - it was beautiful and the food was delicious.  Stu's dad and stepmom joined us for this shower.  It was nice to be able to spend both showers with friends and family.

It's a.....

For months we were so excited to find out the sex of our little peanut (aka Terry).  Luckily for me, our doctor will allow us to try to find out 4 weeks early, assuming baby isn't shy and shows us his or her *eh hem* goods. 


Stu was out of town in Denver on business, so I asked my mom to come with me.  We got into the room and started the ultrasound, and I just knew this wasn't going to be easy.  Terry wasn't giving us a show at all, although he was quite active.  Finally, the sweet ultrasound technician tells me to lay on my side.  What a difference!!  After about a minute, I see something, and she confirms.....IT'S A BOY!!!!!!


I immediately called Stu and we are both thrilled!  So here are the first pictures of sweet Jackson Holt Foster:  (sorry they are blurry, I took a picture of a picture so the quality isn't great)

Our New House

After many discouraging searches, we finally found a house!  We were able to move in at the beginning of November.

The Beginning - Napa and San Francisco

Stu and I had planned a trip to Napa Valley and San Francisco with my parents.  August rolled around and we were so excited.  The wine country was beautiful, the wine was wonderful, the food was incredible.  This is really where our story begins....


It's in San Francisco that we found out we were going to be parents!!
